Giving Employers What They Want: Work Ethic
Limited Capacity seats available

Work ethic - sometimes called soft skills, workplace readiness, or foundational behaviors – are the most in-demand set of skills for employers. Nearly 9 out of 10 hiring managers nationwide say work ethic is their most important factor in hiring. The challenge is that fewer than 1 in 5 candidates have these basic skills, and almost all job-readiness training is focused on academic and technical skills. However, new strategies in developing work ethic are making a huge difference in employability and retention across every population.

Discover the secrets that The Center for Work Ethic Development is using to help organizations around the world build the seven behaviors of work ethic. Through curriculum, certification, and consulting, they are equipping communities to prepare their local workforce for employment and life-long success.

This engaging and interactive presentation highlights simple training and leadership approaches that everyone can use.  By analyzing employer-based research, defining the seven behaviors of work ethic, and applying innovative teaching methodology, participants discover how to make lasting behavior change. Discover how you can build the foundational behaviors of work ethic and give employers what they REALLY want!

By the end of the session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the research around work ethic
  • See the impact of the work ethic gap in America
  • Apply at least three tactics to improve work ethic

Limited Capacity filling up

Case notes are the formal basis for record keeping with the program and are critical as programs partner together. Case notes are being read by multiple staff in multiple agencies in order to offer integrated services. Therefore, case notes become an important piece of agencies working together. Everyone needs to be able to quickly understand the participant's story. Good quality case notes help coordination, justify the services being offered, help everyone to understand the plan, help the participant to feel progress and help evaluators determine if the program is effectively meeting the participant's needs. This session will help staff to determine what content is relevant, how to keep notes accurate and objective, and how to distinguish between facts and opinions. We will look at how to streamline case notes so you can write them faster and more efficiently.

Serious Service Delivery Transformation!
Limited Capacity seats available

We’d like to introduce you to SARA! Come to learn how SARA is transforming service delivery in as little as 30 days. WIOA is calling for innovative technology AND platforms for partner integration and sharing and SARA is delivering, right now.

She’s a revolutionary, customer-engagement, interactive mobile-based case management support platform built with Artificial Intelligence and trained in the requirements of WIOA, TANF, Wagner Peyser, SNAP, TAA and Ticket to Work. After SARA’s first year of operation we now have real data on how SARA is eliminating much of the low skills/low value follow-up, documentation and data entry work and automatically transferring client case notes directly into EFM and OSST. SARA is a whiz at performing the monthly contact requirements and keeping your customers on track to completion and beyond. If integration and alignment of partner services is your focus, well SARA can accomplish that too! Come see SARA in action - - the future is here NOW. Jody Toner from CareerSource Tampa will talk about the changes that SARA has brought and the new automated metrics behind performance that SARA is enabling. This workshop will include a live demonstration of SARA, and a chance for volunteers to interact with SARA.

Lead with Courage, Build Trusting Partnerships, and Reach New Heights in Business

Flying solo? You might think so. But take a good look around. You have support staff and managers. You have directors, suppliers, and distributor partners. And you have colleagues and significant others. Today in our super charged, highly competitive world of constant change, those who build trust and work as a team will dodge the missiles of adversity and win. By committing yourself to excellence and placing your trust in those around you, you can overcome obstacles, adapt to change, and break performance barriers during adverse times. By placing trust in your wingmen and by being a wingman to others, there is no mission you can't complete!

Lt. Col. (ret.)
