State of Students Report: Student perception on college and careers LIMITED

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

Each year, we collect data from a sample size of approximately 800 high school students to better understand their perception of college and careers. Students are segmented by career interest such as manufacturing, healthcare, business, hospitality, arts, and information technology. Students are asked questions in a similar setting at the same time to better control the outcomes of the data.
Some of the questions asked relate around whether they believe they can find a career related to their interested field, their biggest fears when it comes to college, whether they need college to be successful in their careers, whether they need a particular type of post-secondary experience to be successful, what type of colleges are they interested in, are they involved in CTE programs at their school, do they find value in their CTE programs in school, who is their biggest influencers when it comes to making college and career decisions, and many more.
For many communities, leaders are often discussing what can be done to increase the talent pipeline and how do we better prepare students for entering the workforce. The State of Students report provides information directly from students to help us determine their needs and better prepare them for their futures.
During this session, we will provide graphs, charts, and information related to the report. I will provide an opportunity for attendees to ask questions based on the results of the report. The 2017 State of Students Report will not be completed until October 15th, just before the workforce summit. This will provide real-time insight into what students are thinking.
