This workshop will address the role that front-line career center and business services staff play in ensuring domestic jobseekers are given priority prior to the recruitment and arrival of foreign workers under the H-2A Temporary Agricultural Program and H-2B Temporary Non-Agricultural Program. The presenter will outline the required steps when domestic job seekers are referred to include FLC job orders, follow-up and recording placements, as well as the appropriate course of action when domestic workers are displaced subsequent to being hired. Ensuring local staff are appropriately trained on this issue is critical to guaranteeing more protection for job seekers.
